My goal as a therapist is always to provide a safe, inviting, and inclusive space in which clients can find connection, clarity, and growth. As a former special education teacher, I have seen firsthand how essential it is to establish and maintain rapport between student and teacher. Now as a licensed mental health therapist, I find that growth and development always begin with a trusting, positive relationship. In my therapeutic work with clients, I utilize a strongly collaborative approach, and establish a therapeutic bond prior to employing specific clinical intervention(s). I have experience in utilizing a number of different therapeutic techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, solutions-focused therapy, person-centered therapy, and other strengths-based approaches. I also sometimes use a combination of approaches, and always tailor my therapeutic interventions to the specific needs of the client.
