Practice Philosophy :

As a school psychologist and psychometrist, I have experience with multiple
assessment tools needed to assess cognitive ability, academic achievement, social-
emotional and adaptive functioning. In working with children, it is important to
establish a healthy rapport. Children perform best when they feel comfortable and
safe. Standardized assessments provide significant and relevant data, however, I
believe it is equally important to understand the whole child to produce truly
meaningful data. Depending on the purpose of an evaluation, it is important to
consider informal data or information, whether this is gathered through parent
interviews or informal interviews with the child. This can help with not only
identifying a child’s areas of need, but most importantly their strengths.
