Throughout my time spent with children and families, I have witnessed the profound impact that relationships and early childhood experiences have on a child’s emotional and developmental well-being. Life’s stressors can disrupt a child’s sense of security, often straining the parent-child relationship and leading to feelings of anxiety, frustration, and sadness. I believe that true healing occurs within the context of relationships, with the parent-child bond serving as the cornerstone of my therapeutic approach. In my practice, I view parents as invaluable partners in the therapeutic process. Their deep understanding of their children and their availability outside of sessions make them the most influential figures in their child’s healing journey. My goal is to help parents and children connect on a deeper level, recognizing how past experiences shape their present thoughts and behaviors. Therapy sessions may involve collaborative work with parents, helping them to understand their child’s needs, learn effective communication strategies, and foster a supportive home environment. I utilize a play-based, collaborative approach to tailor interventions that meet the unique needs of each child and family. My toolkit includes play-based therapy, Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Circle of Security Parenting (COS-P), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), art, books, stress management, relaxation, and mindfulness techniques. My aim is to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and accepted. For older children and young adults, I focus on empowering them with problem-solving skills that will serve them long after therapy ends. Believing that everyone has the potential to thrive when given the right support, I am committed to helping children build resilience, develop healthy coping skills, and form positive relationships with those around them. I recognize that seeking help requires immense courage, and I am honored to accompany my clients on their path to growth and healing.
