Practice Philosophy :

I am passionate about helping children, adolescents, young adults, and families find and experience lasting happiness in all aspects of life. I place an emphasis on building rapport with my clients. Working as a team, the client(s) and I build specific therapeutic goals tailored to each concern. I believe understanding the “world” of each person I engage with in the therapeutic environment is vital to creating an atmosphere in which change can occur. In my practice, I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, play therapy, art therapy, and family systems therapy to elicit positive, lasting outcomes and solutions. Having worked as a school counselor in an elementary school and later in a middle school, I am aware of the challenges children and teens face at school. I utilize a multi-faceted approach to help students cope with bullying, improve social skills, improve academic motivation, and decrease school anxiety. I am thankful to be invited into clients’ lives to assist them as they move toward personal growth, fulfillment, and lasting joy.
